Imagine if you were purchasing a new or used automobile. Say you went out and bought yourself a new car from a dealership and after you did your research, you found out how much the new automobile is truly valued at. After 3 ½ hours of negotiations with the dealer, you saved $3,000 off the dealer's markup and were able to purchase the car for 4% over invoice. If that's the case, not only did you get a good deal, but you saved $3,000 bucks! Whether purchasing a new or used automobile, you-as the economical, non-impulse, intelligent college student-must do what students do best: RESEARCH!! In our hypothetical example for instance, it would be highly unlikely that you would get a fair deal if you didn't research what the value of the car was, or what manipulative tricks car dealers try to slip on you. So if you went ahead and spent 3 hours researching before you buy, and saved $3,000 bucks off the sticker when you drive off the lot, you just paid yourself $1,000 for each hour you researched! There are a lot of advice sources for purchasing a new or used car, or finding the automobile that's right for you. The few that I have found viable and trustworthy are listed below.
Remember, car dealers are in the business to make money. On the other end, consumers are in the market to save money. So as a student and a consumer, do your research so those manipulative, conniving dealers won't swindle you dry. |
