Since the beginning of the semester parking has been an issue on this campus. While things have improved dramatically with the construction of the two parking garages, there have been abuses that draw away from that. What I am referring to is the fact that students pay premium prices for a Silver 11 ($200?) to park in the garage yet a bunch of spots are taken by the police. While I can see they have the right to park wherever they please should an emergency arise, why park in a student spot when only ten feet away there is an open spot that is designated for them? Just yesterday I saw four police vehicles parked in silver 11 while four open spots where available in the “authorized vehicles” zone only ten feet away. This occurs on a regular basis… nearly everyday you can find at least one vehicle parked in a student zone while empty designated spots a few feet away exist.
