Freshmen Top 10

  1. Get a student body card... in the JTSU. (You can't go to the gym or eat without it!)
--> on top of that get a library number to check out books.

  2. Get a Lombardi pass (go to student services to pay for it) then take the receipt up to the GYM for a sticker. (To keep off the Freshmen fifteen.)

  3. Buy your books... good times to go are early morning and toward the end of the day.
--> If you're smart order your books online so it's cheaper... every class has different reading requirements. (Some might not even need the books.)

  4. Take care of all the bills. (This should probably be at the top.) Housing, Loans, Scholarships, etc.

  5. Get a PO Box! (25 bucks for six months or fifty a year.) You can keep the same PO Box for your entire college career instead of changing it every time you move somewhere.

  6. Get a phone plan. (Either a card or a cel phone.) The dorms offer free local phone service. But really take advantage of the long distance rates. Look into maybe getting a cel... a lot of plans let you call anywhere in the nation as part of the plan.

  7. Get a computer... they got labs, but almost everything requires a computer. Maybe get an old one if all you want to do is do word processing and browse the web.

  8. Get a free email account! (Back of the library, costs you nothing.)

  9. Fridge and microwave. (You can't expect to go to the Dining commons or Taco Bell everynight.)

  10. Find out about stuff to do... we all know you're too busy studying, but you have to have a life. Make friends... be cool with everybody. (We're in college now... don't pull that popularity crap.)
