| Scrugham Engineering-Mines was built in 1963. It is named after James
G. Scrugham (1800-1945), State Engineer for the Governor of Nevada
(1923-1925), U.S. Congressional Representative from Nevada (1933-1942),
and U.S. Senator from Nevada (1942-1945). He was also a professor of
Mechanical engineering (1903-1914) and the first dean of the College of
Engineering here at the University of Nevada.
