| The Orvis School of Nursing was built in 1966 and is the only nursing
school in the state. It is named after Arthur E. Orvis (1888-1965), a
Nevada adoptive resident, who with his wife, Mrs. Mae Zenke Orvis,
contributed a considerable sum of money to our university, making possible
the building's construction.
