| The Laxalt Mineral Engineering Center was built in 1984, and is
attached to the Laxalt Mineral Research Center. Both are named after Paul
D. Laxalt, Governor of the state of Nevada (1967-1971) and U.S. Senator
from Nevada (1974-1987).
It is home to numerous computer labs, a super-computer lab, and one of
the top seismology labs in the nation.
