![]() Frandsen Humanities was originally the Agriculture Building. It is named after Peter Frandsen (1876-1967), founder of the Biology department at this university, and professor from 1900 to 1942. When it was the Agriculture Building, Frandsen once had a slaughterhouse on the first floor. You can still see the gutters that used to carry the blood away. Frandsen is now home to the Foreign Language, Philosophy, English Literature, and Basque Studies departments. The University of Nevada is the only university in the United States that offers a Basque Studies program. |
